Pepper woke up blind this morning and I took her to Dr. Katie. It is complete blindness caused by a tumor on her pituitary gland. We put her to sleep at 1:30 today. Katie was wonderful and gave me lots of time to say goodbye and Pepper laid her head in my lap as she drifted away. I'm a wreck but so thankful Katie was with me.
Pepper was one of those incredible dogs who loved me so faithfully and had to be by my side all the time. I will miss her more than words can tell and my heart is broken in half. She was funny and smart and friendly but always barked at strangers to say "leave my Mom alone".
Spike and Bert welcomed her I am sure.
