I have a five-generation Christmas cactus, and I have taken many cuttings from it to share with friends and especially family members. First of all, is yours actually a Christmas cactus? Many mistake a Thanksgiving cactus for a Christmas cactus. Can you send a picture? Many stores lump them together and call them a "holiday cactus." I have had decent luck with propagation. You can either cut or simply twist a small part of a healthy branch at a segment joint, at least four segments or so in length, ( can be shorter for the Thanksgiving cactus) and either put the cutting in water or let it sit out for some about a week or so and then put it in soil, or you can put it directly in soil. I've had both successes and failures with all three methods, so take a decent amount of cuttings and plan to lose some and be successful with some. I'd be happy to share some cuttings with you once the weather warms up. Mine has pink blossoms. I'll try to send a picture once I can figure out the technology to do so. Even if yours is a Thanksgiving or even an Easter cactus, they should propagate the same as I described above.

Good luck!
