I seem to really be confused on freesias. This is my first year with them, but it appears they are only hardy in zones 9 and above. So I was thinking I could mulch them and nurse them though winters here in zone 8b, but now it appears everyone is saying they don't like heat. The instructions with the bulbs said to plant in full sun.
How are they suppose to bloom in zones 9 and above if they don't like heat and need to be in full sun? Will they just grow foliage this year, die back and maybe bloom the next year in the fall? I thought they would boom in the spring. Confused
