Hi folks, not a Caladium person, but there was an article in today's Tampa Bay Times that had some info I thought you guys would want to know. They were interviewing Costa Farms in Miami about their trial gardens and what worked well for them this year. Of course, they didn't talk about using natives, but that doesn't surprise me. (Steps off soapbox.) They did mention some Caladiums that did well.

In particular, they said the varieties called Sangria and Scarlet Flame grown by Classic Caladiums in Avon Park, FL did very well. They are not yet available for purchase. But, you can get first dibs by signing up for the grower's newsletter at www.classiccaladiums.com I just wanted to let all my ATP folks know in case you're one of those that have to have it first! Also, don't forget the Caladium Festival is coming up in July in Lake Placid, FL. Check it out: http://www.lpfla.com/caladium....

Happy gardening!
