I know what you mean, but I have to scale down my expectations. I'm supposed to be a computer nerd and I could spend every waking hour in that space without ever catching up. The time I get outside and seeing my plants grow is about the best I can hope for. In season I definitely expect to harvest peppers and tomatoes and herbs, but my resources are severely limited.
Also I got fourth/fifth generation plants growing in a half dozen other yards, so I feel like at least I'm doing something worth while
