Guybo - not all of us have trucks!

I do have a beat-up SUV, which is our fur mobile. I guess that our dog could always ride shotgun, which would give me more room for plants. (He refuses to stay in the cargo area and normally has the entire backseat at his disposal, but he has aspirations for a promotion.... whenever we have to quick run into a store or carryout food place on the way home from the dog park, we always find him sitting in the driver's seat when we return.)

As for more mundane things... DH has a Nissan sedan; he can (try to) carry all of the papers, photos, keepsakes, valuables, books, computers (and/or drives), luggage, etc. But given that we have a ginormous library which wouldn't fit in both of our cars (something which I did not previously consider), even if we weren't taking anything else, there's another wrenching decision to be made, in the form of "which X books do we take...". I suspect that if DH had his way, it would be nothing BUT books and computer drives (well, maybe also one wall portrait, one painting, a few photos, our laptops, one tiny overnight bag for clothes), and ONE (or two) daylilies.

Thus, for us, instead of my frantically digging up daylilies, the most likely scenario is that we would probably be arguing over which books to save, and how many books versus how many daylilies, while the disaster overtook us. Rolling my eyes. (If we did escape, at least the seeds would be saved! Those can be stuffed under the driver's seat, or in some other corner not taken up by boxes of books. All is not lost! Rolling on the floor laughing )
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom
