Wolfie, sounds like you have way more yellowjackets than we have here. Major Wheeler does not have a scent, nor does Dropmore Scarlet which may be why I don't see yellowjackets on them.

The honeysuckles I grow are hardy here in zone 4 and lack a scent and grow where they are planted, no spreading. I know some grown in southern climates have a heavy scent plus they multiply way more than I wanted. When we were traveling the scent of those really kicked up my allergies.
If you want to be happy for a lifetime plant a garden!
