Everyone grows Basil, or at least it is a extremely common herb. And like all things that 'Everyone' grows it is unassuming, and 'boring'. Not to say I don't like Basil, I do, Tomatoes just don't taste the same without it; but Basil is a easy and 'Safe' choice to grow. Humans like things to be interesting. Borage is different, edible, pretty, and not hard to grow. Sounds like a good candidate for gardeners looking for something 'New' to grow.
