If the ball uses a solar light, you might replace the battery. Solar lights are often sold with cheap batteries that won't recharge. The orange box store carries good batteries in the solar light display. Then give it a few days of bright sunlight.

Another idea, if the ball has an opening, find a solar light with the charger on a cord. The light goes inside the ball and the charger sits nearby. You can make your own gazing balls with these lights and glass or plastic light fixture globes.

And check your local resources for proper disposal of rechargeable batteries.
