Thanks, Sue! Don't you love the UF webpages? Those beetles sure sound like nasty things and from what I've seen them doing to the willow trees, they are! The willows I saw yesterday weren't too bad but I've seen others just covered in these things. Also, I found it interesting that it was the pupa case I saw. I wouldn't have guessed that but after reading the article I see that it makes sense. I hope my Viceroy butterflies are finding cotton beetle free willows to lay their eggs on.
