The garden tour was great. I tried my best to make everything look nice. Had a crew for two days to put down mulch and weed all the beds and had a few things fixed on the house....so all was good. We've had record amounts of rain the past month and with the horrible storm the night before, there were bits of the yard where you didn't want to walk. It threatened rain all day of the tour, but didn't, so that was great. It was fun to see such interest in plants -especially natives. My friend, Julie, fielded questions in the backyard and the landscaper, Mike Anderson, who layed out part of the backyard stopped by for a few hours to answer questions as well. We handed out laminated plant lists (above) so people could look up the names of plants if interested. It worked out well with probably 100 or so visitors. Everyone was so incredibly nice and complimentary -was a lot of fun. And, now, for the first time, I can sit on the back patio for more than a minute without seeing a weed or something that calls for my attention.
