That little beetle is just like the one I found on my Chinese cabbage! Actually I saw two kinds, one just plain black and one striped. I couldn't get a picture cause all I had was my phone.
Oh, I see it's amaranth now. We have lots of that. And the other pointy leave thing, I think it's a weed too. I'm seeing lots of them here.
