The link was helpful, thank you. After looking at some of the pictures I am even more convinced that it is a fungus of some sort. I think I will look up some kind of spray for it. It does say to remove affected leaves also. I just planted this last fall so I am inclined to think that it had the fungus probably when I bought it, like in the soil or was otherwise exposed. That is really irritating. I have two and one looks more affected than the other, I may just remove one altogether.

Thank you! oh, and yes, the discoloration goes all the way through, although it does not have spots (like freckles) that I can see, more like patches.
