The first mystery flower looks like a wall flower to me or some odd color of honesty (lunaria)? The second one is a Calendula (Pot Marigold), which is a winter hardy annual in my neck of the woods and reseeds everywhere it can.... Edible and is also medicinal...a tea from the flowers is applied to skin and is soothing for sunburn and rashes and you can even use it to soothe tired eyes (so they say). Save the seeds from the Calendula (they look like little C shaped dried up caterpillars) and you can toss them anywhere late in the fall and they'll come up in next spring.
I am not "country" I am "landed gentry."
