I was trying to get a feel for a particular plant I am contemplating, and don't have a specific cultivar picked out yet. I first searched the database for the genus and started opening plant entries to see if any contained multi-plant photos to get a feel for how they might look in situ. Yikes - quickly realized how time consuming this was going to be.
So, went to the multi-plant goody tab to see if I could search from there somehow. If so, I wasn't able to quickly figure it out, although I could be mistaken.
Then I thought - would it be feasible to add a column to the initial search results, similar to the left-hand plant portrait column, and have the most thumbed multi-plant photo appear there as a second thumbnail? That would make it much simpler to scroll down a search result list and open specific cultivars that do have multi-plant photos.
Using our recent iris week as an example:
Plant photo | MP Photo | Irises
Plant photo | | Iris 'Immortality'
Plant photo | MP Photo | Iris 'Batik'
This would tell me that the general iris and the Batik entries have one or more multi-plant photos, but Immortality does not.
