Yes, the hydrogen peroxide would be a good idea. Also if you have a farm store close by go get some Schreiner's Herbal Solution. It is for animals, but we have been using it for years. Works better than anything the pharmacy or doctor has given us over the years. We get the one with the brown label/spray bottle.
