I am no expert, but I sure do have an abundance of nettle. I live in the Pacific Northwest. NW Oregon. All I did was randomly scatter some (very little) seed without concern where or what time of the year and with in about a month I had nettle EVERYWHERE

I don’t know what your climate is, but I really don’t think you will have any problem at all growing it. Mine even grew in seriously hard packed clay
