Hi

My name is Diane and I live in Adelaide, South Australia. We are heading towards Winter Down Under, its getting cold and wet, cold I'm not keen on but the the rain is good, the rainwater tanks are filling nicely, they will see the garden through the hot dry Summers we get here. Last Summer we had several heatwaves of 43C (109F) lasting for several weeks.

Brand new to this forum and only 3 weeks into growing Adeniums.

Growing from seed as a trial to see if I can grow them successfully before getting any named varieties.
Bought 50 seed, gave 10 to a friend (safety in numbers if she gets a good one..lol) planted 40 and about 31 have sprouted.
Growing them in a heated propagation unit.
Had to soak and tease the seed heads off a couple once I read they can get stuck, possibly lost a couple because of my fiddling with them taking off the seed caps.
Also have one white seedling, I know this wont last long but decided to give it the benefit of the doubt...it not costing me anything to let it do its thing.

Just bought the book Adenium: Sculptural Elegance, Floral Extravagance by Dr Mark Dimmett, Gene Joseph, David Palzkill, a great read, with stunning photos.
So despite me saying its a trial, with the purchase of the book it seems I have already decided to continue with Adeniums!

I have been growing Clivia for about 4 years mainly from seed so hopefully the coming Spring will see at least some of my plants flower for the first time.
Ive also got some Frangipanni and some Hippie seedlings growing so I have plenty to keep me going over Winter.

Looking forward to reading everyone's posts.

Regards
Diane
