I'm serious, @Kabby! Neither of my Goldens would retrieve! The first one, Bud, was bred for show, which may be why, but he was just a pet. The second one, Maggie, was bred to hunt, though she was just a pet too. They just couldn't be bothered! Bud could swim all day though. We had to go in and save him from drowning more than once, because he'd swim until too exhausted to get back to shore. Maggie didn't want to get her hair messy, so she hated swimming, until she got old and didn't care if her hair was messy. Maggie didn't like kids, either, so she was extra weird! They were both amazing dogs though, and I miss them terribly! We now have two Labs. One is obsessed with retrieving, and the other will gladly bring something back if you throw it, but it isn't an obsession.
