I transplanted a dahlia today that I started indoors, using a commercial composted potting soil as the starter. Much to my surprise, I found an earthworm in the pot. He was a nice fat worm. How did it get there? Eggs? And I suppose this means my potting mix isn't sterilized.

At any rate I suppose he is now roaming free in the earth in my garden.
