They are mulched with cedar. I just mulched them last fall. Other than that, clean. I pick up any dead leaves. This property sat empty for several years before we bought it and the yard was uncared for for a very long time. So we have an abundance of critters. I don't like to use chemicals if it isn't really needed. Trying to find a way to kill the slugs that won't harm my earthworms.
