I saw a similarity to the Ardisia but the leaves do not have the scalloped edge that are on my Ardisia crenata (with the red berries in winter).
Perhaps it could be the Ardisia japonica or similar? There is not a 'bunch' of flowers; the flower is single and on a long pendant. I will watch to see the flower open; maybe we'll learn more.
Thanks.
