I collected seeds from my green amaryllis and planted them .. they took almost 2 weeks for them to start popping up. I planted some about a quarter inch below some potting mix and some on the surface and kept them on the dry side of moist. The covered ones sprouted first.

I've grown a lot of bulbed plants from seed and you have to be patient as it takes at least a year for them to form the bulb and then anywhere from a year or a few years for the bulb to mature enough to start blooming. This is my first time with amaryllis so I don't have clue as to how long it will take.
