I bought some bricks at a garage sale. I lined a bed along a sidewalk that kept having dirt wash on it. It required a little digging and pulling old stuff out but it really looks nice. Plus there was a spot by the back deck where you stepped off that took forever to get green. I dug down about 6", put in crushed rock, then sand and placed two 12x12 by 1" pavers down surrounded by some of the left over brick. Not quite level though I did try. The center paver is a bit low. I could pull it up and put down a little more sand but it would then destroy the surrounding block. Too much work. Only shows up when it would rain and due to the nice sand and gravel underneath is drains away quickly.
