Dear Nancy, you have confused me a bit. The nearest big store (we call then supermarkets), is quite a walk, like two miles away, but you can get a bus there! We tend to walk in the UK not use a lot of expensive petrol. Sometimes it is quicker on the bus as they can use the bus lanes. However the roads were built for horse and carts, not big cars parked either side of the road.
You can get your shopping delivered but they charge you for it. So why waste money when a two mile walk is nothing with a rucksack and two miles back is a bit slower with the weight!
Think of all these Gyms that have opened up everywhere, they amaze me. People drive there and then do their 30 minutes training or whatever they do and go in the bar for a drink. That does not sound like a good way of keeping fit to me. Simply walk it is better for you!
I am sure that a good 40 mile walk in 24 hours over the Brecon Beacons would sort most people out! Or Ten Tors over Dartmoor, I did that it was fantastic fun.
The Army Escalation over Dartmoor was not good fun though, I must admit!
Big Hugs.
Neil.
