Dear John, Battersea Park is on my list of the 1, 471 London Parks! I too love the place, but I was going to leave it till the spring as it is starting to get a bit late now, and although it does have a good Autumn show, it looks better in the spring! I did put your name on the bottom of the Article, as I was hoping it brought back some nice memories for you and I did find it great that you have a Crystal Palace sort of society\club in Japan with people\friends who were from the area.
Whilst I was there they were having a protest about yet another property Developers company attempting to get some of the land at the top where the Palace was to build on, so I signed their petition sheet! It would only take English Heritage to classify it is a listed and it could not be touched, but they are too busy listing blocks of 1960-1970s flats at the moment to do anything about Crystal Palace which is a shame. There has been a plan put forward to rebuild the Palace using modern materials, but making it look the same as it was! It would be stunning and regenerate the area, however half the money has to come from Business which has already been promised, so now they are waiting on the National Lotteries decision, who take a long time as they probably are not sure of giving £67.8 million to the project.
Thank you for your comments and I will not forget Battersea Park as it was in my top five anyway.
Kindest Regards.
Neil.
