Our berry patch is changing!
We planted 3 red raspberries and 2 blackberries 3 years ago (I think). Late this spring, I thinned and free-cycled many plants.
Does anyone know why the first berries that appeared were BLACK RASPberries? Did something mutate? or do you think some birds dropped a berry or 2 or ??? These black raspberries are smaller than the red raspberries.
We have harvested a gallon of black raspberries. They're trailing off and now a few RED raspberries and the blackberries are just starting to ripen.
Any ideas on why we now have black raspberries?
Kathy
