Aphids should be controllable with a dish soap mixture. I don't use toxic dish soap like Dawn, so I mix a few drops of essential oils like wintergreen. Crushed garlic and hot pepper in the soap is good too. Dilute it. I once burned the daylights out of my roses with garlic.
Don't make fear based decisions.
