That particular seedling had 10 buds on the very first scape! In my garden, typically I get 6-8 buds on my small first time to bloom seedlings. So the number is higher than my average and then it surprised me with a rebloom scape. It was also very pod and pollen fertile. Can't ask for anything more! A very good cross!!! I am also hoping that it continues to show rust resistance. It had a rust resistance rating of 2 in the Spring. Fall will determine if that rating remains firm. If it doesn't, that plant will definitely be crossed with any rust resistant daylilies. I want one just like it with rust resistance because I garden organically. Rust resistance is one of my top hybridizing goals. People here locally stopped growing daylilies in their gardens because of the rust. Most gardeners here do not use chemicals, so rust resistance is a high priority for me and is the only way I would even consider sharing (or selling) any daylilies to locals, family, and friends. My reason for hybridizing is to name some good quality seedlings after loved ones and then gift them to family and friends.
