What you have is a Haworthia succulent, so just try to keep your media very well draining, if you are in a tropical location, add more pumice or perlite, like almost making it a very rocky media. It likes to be in a drier set-up. New leaves will form from the center of the plant. I would put some small pebbles or lava rock around the base of the plant to keep it propped up and not too touching the media. It grows actively during the warm months, and since you are in a warm area, that is good. But just be careful with the humidity aspect, if it rains a lot and your plant is too soaking wet, it may make the leaves go mush, so try to shelter the plant from too much rain, but still keeping as much bright light, not too much direct sun either, with good air circulation.
In my area, since our location is way too dry, I can let the leaves touch the media. But like any other succulent if it comes to a point when the media goes way too wet and humidity around is quite high, these plants do not like it. Those leaves are very efficient in holding moisture in them, so too much humidity does not go well with it.
