It looks like the upper twisted yellow leaf emerged from a flag leaf while the lower one emerged behind it and threw it's own flag leaf and inflorescence with a proper peduncle. There has been a lot of discussion about the odd blooming behavior of White Lava and I'm glad to see such a clear photograph of all of the parts. Thanks.
