Jim's Pick is actually THE daylily that got me into daylilies. I ordered it from Homestead Farms years ago and have it growing in four places in my yard. It was most likely the first plant I hybridized with along with Big Smile. It sets pods easily, but I can't recall if I ever used it as a pollen parent. The photo I've included was taken today with no photo editing.

The clump I have growing near the sidewalk/road does not appear fragrant. However, the plant I have growing alongside my small garden pond, which is in more of enclosed area, I find it to be easily fragrant. It might depend on location, the clump near the road, exposed to car fumes every four seconds. It is worth growing, the colors can be amazing with the right lighting/backdrop.

Here's a hint if you want to use it as a pod parent and are having trouble setting pods: Don't hybridize in temps near 85 degrees or above. *Remove the pistil from another flower (can be another cultivar), and squeeze the fluid onto the stigma of the flower you want to put pollen on. Then dab your pollen. I have found this to be helpful for plants that are hard to set pods on, but I've not had trouble with Jim's Pick. Any questions, let me know, and I hope this helps!
