Yep, they can sure cause some major issues if left to grow at their own will! We also have problems in central and southern Fla. with Umbrella Tree (Heptapleurum actinophyllum) as well as Rubber Plant (Ficus elastica) and a few others too. The roots can crack and damage sidewalks and house foundations!
