Hi foussi, It's certainly warm enough! I can't help much with identifying your plant other than it looks large enough to rule out an A. macrorrhizos. I'll second Swayback's comments about LariAnn. Did you know your Upright Elephant Ear (Alocasia 'Portora') was hybridized by her some 30 years ago?

I'm sorry to read you lost the Alocasia your father collected. I still enjoy plants which came from my family the most. I've used Seramis as an additive to potting mixes but not as the main ingredient. Others will hopefully have advice to offer.
