I do the same with seed trays full of seedlings. I think it's worth mentioning that I find the process much easier if the potting mix moisture is "just right". It can take a few "oops!" to learn "just right" moisture. If the potting mix is too dry, it's easy to tear the roots. If it's too wet, the soil falls apart completely.
