My plant started to flower in July, around the time I took those pictures above. I didn't let it continue to flower and none of the flowers had made it to the 'pappus' stage. Let me see if I have any other photos. Many of them just didn't turn out right. I did notice that the flowers had a pink to orange tinge.

It is hard to find reliable images for the lettuce species for a good comparison!
