I've established that the Latin word "Ananas" means Pineapple and "nanus" means dwarf. So, the scientific name for my plant would be "Ananas- nanus". My dwarf pineapple is the standard color, not the red often seen in dwarf varieties. Based on my research, regardless of the color, the genus and species name will remain the same. Hurray!
