Sorry I missed these posts earlier .. been 'away' with some eye probs .. all good.

There is some variation with canna names in different parts of the world eg. the same canna may be also be known as another name or even have been 'long term' mis-named/ID'd to start with.

The one's as mentioned in the Italian Group: Italia, Roma, Brittania, Cattleya (I'm not familiar with Bavaria in Australia) have all been mixed up at one time or another.
I do know that Roma does have distinctive white/cream edging to leaves & that Italia has the notched lower labellum .. which will remove them from the question.

There is then possibly either Cattleya or Britannia as the answer .. both of which 'may be' the same canna .. I have been trialing both here for 6yrs .. and I find them the same in conditions here. Both will change flower colour/pattern dependant on heat/weather conditions, neither produce seeds, the rhisomes are the same, the height is the same, they grow at the same rate, the stems & foliage are the same with no white edging .. and they also, at odd times, have a 'hare-lip' .. just to throw a 'curved ball' .. on some blooms, sometimes.

I think that the site Canna News has the best info on these & also shows some of the other names they have been known by over the years. I did take several pics of the foliages on all of these at some stage a cple yrs ago .. when I can see more clearly to sort thru them, I'll post them to the site.

From the pic in the question at the beginning .. I'd say it mostly resembles the one I have as Cattleya .. as I do find that Britannia s'times Confused has a more 'floppy' flower more often than my Cattleya .. cannas .. gotta love 'em!
