I used to have toads too. Even within the last couple of years at this new house I have ( 20 yrs old). You know the Native American fetish, toad? It's meant that you bury that fetish in a place where water will settle (a pond, say) in hopes that the rainfall will occur. I think we should all pick one up at, well I know Heard Museum as beautiful fetish's, and bury one.
