I like the old varieties of Iris that I grew up with. My Mother grew the Iris pallida. There was a large, long patch of it behind our garage. It was an incredible sight. I just have to grow that iris.
I have seen a lot of old, historic Iris that I want to acquire. All of the Iris I have planted now - 10 of them - I got from Ebay, and now I realize that a few of them are infact historic iris. I didn't realize that Iris pallida was what my Mother grew until Linnea posted a photo of it and I recognized it
immediately.
