Make sure the pods are ripe; they stay on the tree for 9 months, through the dormant season.
A ripe pod will start to dry out and crack. Then the seeds can be easily taken out.
I put them in vermiculite or just some well draining soil and mist several times a day.

If you have ripe seeds you can start them any time.
