My college aged son was home for the weekend and volunteered to help in me in the yard....sounds like a good idea to me. It was time to upgrade a few daylilies from the pots to the ground so I could use a little help. To make a short story even shorter, he picked up the bag of soil closest to him, which was potting soil. He was so proud of his fantastic garden work Thumbs down

Will the potting soil do irreparable damage to the plants, or is there something I can do to mitigate the damage, short of digging them up?
