Richard, did you ever find them? I purchase my seeds from organic growers, so I ordered some from Peaceful Valley:
http://www.groworganic.com/ren...
(I think that is the variety I have, anyway...I'm not looking at my seed packet at the moment.) They have others, just type in "dianthus" to the search bar.

Mine love the raised garden bed they are in and are blooming profusely right now. I put them in my veggie bed because Carnations are considered an edible flower. They have a beautiful, sweet smell, although they are a little smaller than the carnations I've seen in stores, but I haven't tried eating one yet. I keep forgetting that's part of why I purchased them--they're just so beautiful! I've been dead-heading my carnations so that I get more blooms, but if I happen to save any seeds from them this year, maybe I'll tree-mail you and send some your way. Smiling If you're dying to have them, though, the seeds are cheap enough from Peaceful Valley and other retailers, I would just purchase them direct.
