Dave,
In your recent podcast,you touched on the same topic and I thought it was very original of you to question whether or not we should even care about monarchs going extinct. While it seems a given that we all care, it was an interesting reflection point for me. It made me realize that we all feel monarchs must be preserved because they are so iconic, not necessarily because that type of butterfly is such a necessary component to the ecosystem. I was surprised, though, that you didn't touch on milkweed toxicity, I had hoped you might after previous comments.
