You can cut them and stick the cut-off part back in the pot if you'd like to see more leaves below. The stump will grow 1 or more new tops to replace the one you removed, and sometimes new stems also come from the roots after a prune. If interested, I'd do them over time, so it never has to have a time when it looks drastically pruned.
