In Zone 5 B unless you have HUGE containers as pointed out above heavily mulched, simply outdoors they will likely rot. Particularly if placed on a deck or patio. Freeze - thaw - moisture - freeze - thaw repeat. Been there - done that in smaller containers and regular Deck Planters that go over rails. ROT

If you plant and then leave in garage you might be ok. Or if you sink a pot and mulch in a shaded area, you may be okay.

You might experiment a bit. Smiling
