Thanks for your encouraging words Tom. According to what I have read on various sites and articles, my rose hip is not ripe. One site mentioned it should feel soft. And yet another suggests to keep checking the stem - when it changes color - darkens - it's ready. I'll keep you abreast of my progress. Peace - Margie
