Dahlias Irises Plant Lover: Loves 'em all! Roses
Hello, is there a reasonable state of the art/ or Trade percentage of success rate that could be used for us dahlia lovers. In the dry seed trade packets usually it is written: the expected minimum germination rate. Is there such an accepted rate for dahlia tuber's that were bought in the trade, specially when they travel from so far away? ( mine migrate all the way from Holland out to northwestern Patagonia where I grow my dahlias). At least knowing what is reasonable to expect reduces frustration. I'm now at the stage where I've got to wait for my tubers to sprout. Yesterady I finished potting them and they are placed in one of my warm greenhouses. They stay there for a month and if everything goes well they go into the ground by December when I lift my spring bulbs. thank you for your help. Arturo
