Zuzu is right that I didn't have the forum setup to show thumbnails, but I have now changed that and thumbnails are showing now.
A current limitation on the system, though, is that the thumbnail will only show if it's directly uploaded into the thread. If a db image is used, that's not seen as an image by the system for reasons that are too complicated to explain right now.
I'll see about fixing that one of these days.
