Oh Seedsower, I'm with you on fernies! They are really cool peonies. Unfortunately, I learned somethings about them after I lost my big huge double red. 1. They don't like to be crowded. 2. They like their feet to be dry. I think I lost mine because of both of the above problem. Needless to say, I've replaced them, but it will be a long time before the new ones ever achieve the stature of my 10 year old bush. So, I will just have to live vicariously through yours.
